First CCAN Community Cleanup a Success

The Country Club Alliance of Neighborhoods (CCAN) held their first community cleanup Saturday April 18th.  Utilizing the County of Sacramento's "Adopt a Street" program, about 50 volunteers from all over the Arden Arcade area (and a family from El Dorado Hills) spent half of the day cleaning El Camino Ave from Eastern to Fulton, Yorktown Ave and Balmoral Ave from El Camino Ave to Watt Ave, and Butano Dr from El Camino Ave to Watt Ave.

The various cleanup crews removed a number of large bags of trash from the cleanup sites and even came across some odd items such as a chandelier, a large kitchen knife, a burning mattress, and an old walker.

Afterwards, volunteers met back at Emigh's Outdoor Living for a community meal.

CCAN would like to thank all of the sponsors who made this event possible, most notably Emigh Hardware and Emigh Outdoor Living who provided tables, chairs, shade, grills, buckets, and their parking lot (among a laundry list of items) for our event.

Our other sponsors were:
Starbucks (Town and Country / Fulton Ave and Marconi Ave)
Baker Ben's Donuts (Watt Ave and Auburn Blvd)
Raley's (Watt Ave and Marconi Ave)
Bel Air (Arden Way and Eastern Ave)
Costco (Exposition Ave)
Devine Intermodal
Leatherby's Family Creamery (Arden Way)
Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour Restaurants (Watt Ave)
Sacramento County Department of Transportation's Adopt a Street Program
Trader Joe's (Town and Country / Fulton Ave and Marconi Ave)
Wal-Mart (Watt Ave and El Camino Ave)
Woody's Bar and Grill (Watt Ave and El Camino Ave)

Community Cleanup

Join us for a community cleanup day 04/18/2015
We will clean up El Camino Ave from Parkwood to Ione (about a 1.0 mile stretch).
We may try to clean up more streets depending on the number of volunteers.

More details will be posted as we finalize details.
